HOW TO FIND THE CHEAPEST FLIGHTS

“I can’t travel, it’s expensive “. The countless times I have heard this excuse and I can’t listen about it any more so I decided to share some tips with all of you. Usually it is expensive, if you take the first offer given by travel agency or airplane company, but if you are willing to invest some time and use your own head it doesn’t have to be. Of course, it isn’t free, but it’s achievable. I spent last few days researching and you would be surprised how much you can save. Here are few tricks that will help you find the cheapest fares and save you hundreds of euros.

BE FLEXIBLE WITH YOUR TRAVEL DATES

I know that most of you work and you have to plan your trip depending on your free days, but do the opposite. First, find the cheapest day to fly, then plan your vacation. You will save the most money if you fly when no one else is flying. Check out this example. Here are two identical flights, same company, same route. The only difference is a date and guess what. You can save more than hundred euros if you chose first option. Companies know when the major events or holidays are and they raise the price.

CLEAR YOUR BROWSER HISTORY

I didn’t think about it before, but it’s logical. Is there anyone who open the Skyscanner and immediately buy the ticket? Maybe me, if I am in some kind of rush and I want to get from one place to another as soon as possible,  but most people plan their trips for weeks even months. In that period they search a destination and available flights many times and Google knows that. “He” knows everything, what you have been looking for and for how long. Considering that “He” is really smart his conclusion is very simple. You need that ticket more and more so you are more likely to buy whatever is available and  result of that is a higher price.

BE FLEXIBLE WITH YOUR DESTINATION

Not literally. I’ll show you on my example. Last year I went to Rotterdam and, of course before the trip I searched for a ticket and I didn’t like what I found because the only available ticket was for a long and expensive flight for a destination that is not too far from Zagreb so I put Amsterdam as my destination because from that airport you can easily reach Rotterdam by train for less than half of hour. A result was more than good. Not only that this flight was hundred euros cheaper, but it was also 20 hours shorter. So, what’s the point ?Always check nearby airports and compare the prices. Mostly, they are connected with fast trains and you will reach primary destination cheap, fast and easy. Also, if you want to go somewhere and you have no idea where you can put EVERYWHERE as your destination on Skyscanner and the searching engine will show you the cheapest options, so you can get an idea where to go.
